What is gate?

gate is a startup hub for high-tech and deep-tech startups located on the Garching Research Campus near Munich. Situated right next to the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and close to the MakerSpace, gate brings together research, technology, and entrepreneurship.

What startups are based at gate?

The gate is home to startups in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, medtech, cleantech, AR & VR, and smart mobility.

Who supports and funds gate?

The center is supported and funded by, among others, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, TUM, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria, LfA Förderbank Bayern, the Munich Network, Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg, the District of Munich, and the university town of Garching.

What does gate offer?

gate offers early-stage startups and scale-ups flexible office space, coaching, workshops, and events, as well as access to a strong network of experts from academia, industry, and investors.

What makes gate special?

Since 2002, gate has supported over 300 startups and, according to the Financial Times, is among “Europe’s Leading Startup Hubs 2026.”
