Consent to the acknowledgement of paternity
If you need the Immigration and Naturalisation Service’s approval for the recognition of paternity, you can submit an application here.
Description
You can submit your application and the required documents via our online contact form. To do so, first select ‘I have a question’ and the category ‘Cancelling an appointment’ on the contact form, and provide the contact details of the person concerned in Munich. Alternatively, the registration office can submit the application directly to us.
Requirements
You have acknowledged paternity at the registry office, the youth welfare office, a notary’s office or a German diplomatic mission abroad, and you require the approval of the relevant Foreigners Office for the acknowledgement to take effect.
Required documents
- A fully completed application for consent to the acknowledgement of paternity
- Valid national passport or passport substitute for both parents
Please note
The documents submitted (for example, proof of identity and language certificates) will be checked for authenticity. We will report any forged documents to the police.
