Commercial waste collection and transport

Anyone wishing to collect or transport hazardous waste on a commercial basis requires a waste transport licence.

Course description

Anyone wishing to collect or transport hazardous waste on a commercial basis requires a waste transport licence. The legal basis for this is Section 54 of the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) and the Waste Notification and Authorisation Ordinance (AbfAEV).

The authority checks the reliability and expertise of the applicant or notifier and the persons responsible for management and supervision.

Note: According to Section 55 (1) KrWG, commercial collectors and carriers are obliged to affix so-called "A signs" to their vehicles when carrying out their activities on public roads. These must fulfil the requirements of Section 10 of the Waste Shipment Act (AbfVerbrG).

We strongly recommend a telephone or personal consultation before preparing the application documents.
