Authorisation for waste disposal facilities

Anyone wishing to construct or operate a facility for the treatment, handling or storage of waste requires a permit under immission control law.

Course description

This authorisation covers almost everything: with only a few exceptions, it replaces all other official permits required for the project. This is known as the concentration effect.

Important steps in the procedure are

  • Advising the applicant on the procedure and documents
  • Checking the completeness of the documents
  • Submission to the public interest organisations
  • public display and discussion of objections (in part)
  • Comparison of the comments received
  • Preparation of decision

Before preparing the application documents, we strongly recommend that you seek comprehensive advice from the responsible authority.

In Munich, this is the Department for Climate and Environmental Protection, whose contact details can be found at the bottom of the page.
