Registration for the specialised secondary schools

Requirements

• Intermediate School Leaving Certificate or authorisation to progress to Year 11 at a Gymnasium (upper secondary school entrance qualification)
• An average mark of at least 3.5 in German, English and Mathematics on the secondary school leaving certificate, although one mark may be lower than 4
• Anyone who cannot provide evidence of a mark in one of the above-mentioned subjects on their certificate (for example, because they had previously dropped the subject) must sit an aptitude test in that subject.

To enrol at the Municipal Technical College for Design, candidates must pass an entrance examination. Please also refer to the information on the Technical College for Design’s website. ​

Required documents

Enrolment can only be made in person, by a legal guardian or an authorised representative. The following documents must be presented:

• Birth certificate (original and copy)
• Secondary school leaving certificate or, if the certificate is not issued until July, the last half-year report (original and copy)
• complete curriculum vitae
• official certificate of good conduct for applicants who are not transferring directly from a public school
• when transferring from grammar school from the 11th or subsequent grades: current annual or half-year report card
