Preventive home visits for older people

Preventive home visits are intended to help recognise emergency and dangerous situations among older people at an early stage.

Description

During a preventive home visit, you will be advised at an early stage on the services available to help the elderly and on issues relating to old age. This helps you to stay in your familiar surroundings for as long as possible.

The "preventive home visits" are integrated as a task in the old people's and service centres (ASZ) and in the housing advice centre.

Specialists inform and advise you on the following topics during a home visit:

  • Meeting places and events in your neighbourhood
  • inexpensive leisure and cultural activities
  • Voluntary work
  • home help
  • Housing
  • Administrative matters
  • financial issues
  • Care
  • personal concerns

If necessary, appropriate assistance will be arranged.

The visits are of course only made on request. They are free of charge and are treated with absolute confidentiality.

On request, the consultation can also take place at a location of your choice.

If required, support from an interpreter is possible during the home visit.
