Advertising sales stand in the old town pedestrian zone

Anyone wishing to operate an advertising sales stand in the old town pedestrian zone in Munich requires a special use permit.

Description

There are five stands, which are allocated to authorised applicants on a weekly basis. There are 40 authorised traders who form a so-called rotating community. If someone leaves, the next person can move up. The waiting period is often several years.

Prerequisites

For the waiting list of the rotation community:

  • Main residence in the Munich S-Bahn area (MVV fare zone)
  • Activity in advertising sales for at least five years (also as a sales assistant)
  • Activity in advertising sales is an essential basis of existence

For the special use permit:

  • It is primarily about advertising and promoting products.
  • Snacks, drinks or souvenirs are not permitted.
  • The articles require a certain amount of explanation or demonstration and are therefore explained in a lecture or demonstrated in practice.
  • The items must be authorised by the district administration department. A product range of around 130 items is currently authorised for sale.

If you would like to be included in the waiting list of the rotation community

  • informal letter
  • Registration of residence (if you live outside Munich)
  • Proof that you have worked in advertising sales for five years and that this is your main source of income.

420 euros per week, plus 30 euros administration fee per permit
