Advertising sales stand in the old town pedestrian zone
Anyone wishing to operate an advertising sales stand in the old town pedestrian zone in Munich requires a special use permit.
Description
There are five stands, which are allocated to authorised applicants on a weekly basis. There are 40 authorised traders who form a so-called rotating community. If someone leaves, the next person can move up. The waiting period is often several years.
Prerequisites
For the waiting list of the rotation community:
- Main residence in the Munich S-Bahn area (MVV fare zone)
- Activity in advertising sales for at least five years (also as a sales assistant)
- Activity in advertising sales is an essential basis of existence
For the special use permit:
- It is primarily about advertising and promoting products.
- Snacks, drinks or souvenirs are not permitted.
- The articles require a certain amount of explanation or demonstration and are therefore explained in a lecture or demonstrated in practice.
- The items must be authorised by the district administration department. A product range of around 130 items is currently authorised for sale.

If you would like to be included in the waiting list of the rotation community
- informal letter
- Registration of residence (if you live outside Munich)
- Proof that you have worked in advertising sales for five years and that this is your main source of income.
