Notification of irregularities under waste legislation
If you notice that waste (including scrap motor vehicles) is being handled, stored or deposited in an unauthorised manner, please report this to the environmental authority.
Description
If waste is not disposed of properly via the waste bin, the recycling collection or the recycling centre, but is disposed of illegally (e.g. in the "great outdoors") or is stored or deposited on properties without authorisation, this can pose a danger to the general public.
Anyone who intentionally or negligently treats or disposes of waste illegally is committing an administrative offence under Section 69 (1) No. 2 KrWG and can be fined up to 100,000 euros.
The private incineration of waste is also prohibited. The incineration ban also applies to garden waste such as tree and shrub cuttings or leaves in the urban area. Garden waste can be disposed of in the organic waste bin; it can also be composted in your own garden or, for larger quantities, handed in at the recycling centre.
The Department for Climate and Environmental Protection is only responsible for enforcing the proper disposal of waste in the event of corresponding offences on private property.
The Building Department deals with waste law issues that affect public thoroughfares, such as public roads, footpaths and cycle paths, as well as roadside greenery.
If waste is deposited in the area of recycling islands, the waste disposal companies commissioned by the dual systems are responsible.
In the event of offences against the ban on feeding pigeons, please contact the district administration department.
In the case of offences outside the Munich city area, please contact the responsible district administration office!
