Tree felling - Protected tree species
In Munich, certain trees are specially protected by the Tree Protection Ordinance. These trees may only be cut down or pruned with authorisation.

- Fruit trees are exempt from the Tree Protection Ordinance (this does not apply to pear, elder, crab apple, bird cherry, hazel and walnut).
- Replacement trees (also with a smaller trunk circumference) that have been designated and planted.
