Promotion of in-house day care

As a full inpatient care facility, you can receive a personnel cost subsidy for a specialist for in-house day care in accordance with the guidelines.

Description

Note On 29 November 2023, the Munich City Council decided to end the voluntary "Care Transition" programme on 31 December 2024. The funds released will primarily be used to subsidise school social work in vocational schools for nursing care. From 2025, a proportion of the funds will also flow into the "In-Home Day Care" programme (resolution point 2.6). This means that higher amounts will be available for the in-house day care programme from 2025.

Task of in-house day care The employees of in-house day care (HIT) help to ensure that people in need of care, such as those suffering from dementia, receive a better structure to their daily routine in fully inpatient facilities. This can improve the quality of life of residents. In order to achieve this goal, specialists in in-house day care are supported.

Things to know about the funding programme
The previous additional staffing from the staffing ratio is no longer required.
In order to strengthen end-of-life care, a 25 per cent share of staff must be freed up for the coordination of palliative care and evidence of this must be provided. This proportion is not eligible for funding.
When applying for HIT, an organisation-specific concept for end-of-life care must also be submitted. It must include the wishes for the end of life, a standard emergency plan and an individual crisis sheet.
If the care home provider operates more than one full inpatient care facility in Munich, it must join the Munich Hospice and Palliative Network.

Prerequisites

All full inpatient care facilities in accordance with the German Social Code XI - Social Care Insurance (SGB XI) - that provide their services within the area of the City of Munich are eligible. All requirements that must be met in order to apply for a personnel cost subsidy can be found in the guidelines for the subsidisation of in-house day care.
