Driving licence - new application after withdrawal or waiver
If your driving licence has been revoked or you have voluntarily surrendered it, your driving licence has expired and you must apply for a new one.
Course description
Application deadlines: You should apply for a new driving licence approximately six months before your disqualification period expires. Validity of supporting documents:
- Medical certificate or report: one year
- Eye test certificate or ophthalmologist’s report: two years
- First aid: no restriction. Please note that a certificate of attendance for first aid at the scene of an accident is no longer sufficient; since 1 April 2015, 9 teaching units have been required.
New EU driving licence: A new EU driving licence was introduced on 19 January 2013. You can find a link to the key information and an overview of the new driving licence categories under ‘Forms & Links’.
Important note
The decision as to whether and under what conditions you can obtain a new driving licence depends on the circumstances of the individual case. To this end, we carefully check all information (e.g. criminal record) and court decisions.
You can only apply for a new driving licence in writing. To do this, you must complete the application form "Re-issue of a driving licence after revocation or surrender" in full, sign it and send it to us with the required documents.
Prerequisites
You are registered as having your main residence in Munich.
