Have you lost or found something?

You can drop off found items at many different places:

  • festival tents, stalls, rides: staff or office
  • Lost & Found Office at the Deutsches Museum Vekehrszentrum (Am Bavariapark 5, 80339 Munich)
  • Subway: staff or counter (public transport has its own lost property office)
  • Police: Patrol officers or police station
  • Festival Management: Theresienwiese Service Center (below the Bavaria Statue)

  • Usually it will take some time, until lost items arrive at our Lost & Found Office. Staff members at the festival tents or rides collect lost items all day long and often wait until the next day before they deliver everything at the Lost & Found Office. Sometimes it takes several days before something is dropped of here. For that reason we ask you not come to the Lost & Found Office immediately. Please be patient and – if possible- wait for one or several days before you start asking.
  • In order to collect your lost property you must show your identity card or passport. If you want to collect an item for someone else you need an additional written power of attorney.
  • You need to give us a plausible description of the lost item or your proof of ownership.
  • You need to pay a fee, which is calculated for every lost item. Payment can only be made in cash.
  • If we can find any information about the owner in or at a lost item, we will contact them directly with a letter.
  • Mobile phone owners are notified via their network providers.
  • We send belongings of visitors from other cities or foreign ountries directly to their home cities, embassies or consulates.
  • For keys, glasses, clothing and other mass items that are difficult to describe, we ask you to come to our Lost & Found Office.
