Parking permit for commercial residents

Anyone who is established in a parking licence area as a self-employed freelancer or with a business can apply for a parking permit.

Description

New application

If you are based in a parking permit zone with a business, trade or as a self-employed person, you can apply for a parking permit for commercial residents. One commercial parking permit is issued per business or shop. This does not usually include a vehicle registration number and can therefore be used by different people. Self-employed professionals (such as doctors or solicitors) may each apply for their own parking permit.Please note: In general, no commercial resident parking permits can be issued for the ‘Altstadt’ and ‘Hauptbahnhof’ parking licence zones.

Renewal

Commercial residents will receive a reminder letter approximately six weeks before their parking permit expires. If you wish to renew your parking permit under the same terms and conditions, you do not need to submit a new application. You simply need to pay the fee specified in the reminder letter.

Requirements

  • The shop, business or company is demonstrably established in a licence area
  • There is no private parking facility available.

Required documents

You must upload the following documents for the online application.

  • Proof (e.g. rental agreement, telephone or electricity bill) that you have a commercial establishment in the licence area.
  • For freelancers, additional suitable proof of non-dependent freelance activity (e.g. proof from the tax office of freelance activity or extract from the partnership register/ articles of association, etc.)
  • For non-profit organisations, additional proof of non-profit status

Duration and costs

Processing time

If all the necessary documents are submitted, the application will generally be processed within three working days of receipt. If you submit your application online, we will send you an application confirmation by e-mail immediately after your application has been processed, which will be tolerated by the supervisory staff for a maximum of one week.

Fees

  • 12 months/ 360 Euro
  • 24 months/ 720 Euro

Verifiable non-profit organisations:

  • 12 months/ 120 euros

Registration of a fixed licence plate for purely battery electric vehicles (fee reduction):

  • 12 months/ 30 euros

Available payment methods

Questions & Answers

If you move to another parking licence area, your existing parking permit will unfortunately expire without replacement. You will need to apply for a new parking permit for the new licence area.

I am temporarily unable to use my private parking space due to construction work. Can I get a parking permit? Yes, if you state the garage conversion in your application and provide proof, you will receive a temporary parking permit.
