Guided tours of the fire stations

The Munich Fire Brigade offers guided tours of its stations to school classes, groups from clubs, organisations and companies.

Apply for a firearms licence

You require a firearms licence to carry firearms that do not bear the corresponding "PTB" test mark.

If you want to install a fireplace or stove in your house or flat, it must be registered using this form before use.

Small firearms licence

If you wish to carry a gas, alarm or signal weapon in public, you must apply for a small firearms licence.

European firearms pass

If you want to take firearms with you when travelling in the EU, for example on hunting trips or for competitions, you need a European firearms pass.

If you no longer use your fireplace or stove or have it removed, you must report this decommissioning to the competent authority.

Fire service driving licence

Members of the volunteer fire brigade, rescue services and other civil protection units can obtain a driving licence for emergency vehicles.

Possess and acquire ammunition

You need a licence to purchase and possess ammunition. A purchase licence is also valid as a permit for possession.

Register fireworks (pyrotechnics)

Anyone wishing to buy and set off private fireworks for a special occasion (e.g. birthday, anniversary) requires a licence.

Sale of firewood

You can saw firewood in the municipal forests and cut it yourself. We do not offer firewood ready for the stove, you must collect and cut it yourself.

Applying for and renewing an explosives licence

You need a licence to acquire, store, use, transfer, bring, transport and destroy explosive substances.

Apply for a gun licence

If you want to buy and own firearms, you must apply for a firearms licence. Certain weapons with test marks are exempt from this requirement.

Financial support for clothing

Financial support for the necessary initial equipment with clothing and shoes, but not for additional purchases.

Flying lanterns, tea lights and balloons

You may release up to 500 balloons without authorisation. It is forbidden to release lanterns or tea lights throughout Bavaria.
