Support for sustainable projects in our city

If you are planning a project in the areas of climate change, biodiversity, environmental education, environmental protection or waste avoidance, you can apply for funding.

Description of the course

The Municipal Foundation Administration of the City of Munich offers funding opportunities from the Margit Hesse Foundation. The aim is to support innovative and sustainable projects that raise environmental awareness and improve the quality of life in Munich.

Funding amounts to a maximum of 10,000 euros per project.

Please note that all costs must be documented. The Margit Hesse Foundation does not assume any costs for ongoing administrative costs, rental and energy costs, office equipment or ongoing personnel costs (except for project fees).

Prerequisites

Requirements for funding from the Margit Hesse Foundation:

  • Proof of non-profit status:
  • The organisation must be based in Munich
  • The project must directly benefit the citizens of Munich

Required documents

The following documents are required to submit an application to the Margit Hesse Foundation:

  • Fully completed application form
  • Signature of an authorised signatory on page 3 "Declarations" of the application form

The following documents must be submitted after completion of the project:

  • Proof of utilisation
  • All receipts documenting the use of the grant funds

Duration and costs

Processing time

Applications can be submitted between 1 January and 31 October of each year. The processing time is usually three weeks.

So-called material and action costs are subsidised.

Ongoing personnel costs are not subsidised. Ongoing administrative costs, rental and energy costs and office equipment are also excluded.
