Clearance certificate
If you need to prove your tax reliability, you can obtain confirmation that you have always met your payment obligations.
Description
The clearance certificate is valid for three months. After that, you must apply for it again.
From 1 April, the City Treasury will gradually move from Herzog-Wilhelm-Straße 11 to Landsbergerstraße 36. There may be delays in processing your enquiry and restrictions in party traffic.

Prerequisites
- You require a tax clearance certificate from the city treasury, for example for the authorisation of a business.
- You have no outstanding debts to the City of Munich.
Required documents
- Personal application: ID card, proof of payment, authorisation from the applicant if applicable
- Applications by post, e-mail or fax: completed "Application for clearance certificate" form, proof of payment
