Individual project funding in the field of dance
Professional artists and groups can apply for project funding in the field of dance.
Course description
The programme supports projects by professional artists and groups who have already achieved initial artistic success in the independent performing arts. The projects should have an independent aesthetic expression, reflect relevant contemporary discourses and represent an enrichment for the independent Munich scene.
The maximum funding amount for individual projects is 100,000 euros. Funding is provided for the production and a limited number of performances. Complementary financing must be conclusively proven.
The funding is aimed at artists of all age groups, Debut funding is provided for the beginning of an artistic career.

Applications for the year 2027 can be submitted until Monday, 1 June 2026.
Legal basis
Awarding
The applications submitted will be reviewed by the jury of independent theatre and dance professionals. The award recommendations are based on the principles and guidelines for the promotion of contemporary performing arts. The City Council is expected to decide on the awarding of the dance and theatre scholarships in autumn 2026 based on the jury's recommendation.
