Fire protection

Description

The Munich Fire Department advises on all aspects of preventive fire protection: it carries out fire inspections and advises in advance on events, fire alarm systems, fire service access routes and fire service plans.

In addition, the fire department is regularly involved in the approval process for new builds, conversions and changes of use in matters of preventative structural fire protection.

The Fire Department offers the following services:

• Fee-based advice for building owners, architects, property managers, specialist planners and others on the basis of planning documents or, in individual cases, directly on site.

• Expert opinions on the entire construction project for the building permit authorities (local building commission, Department of Health and Environment, Federal Railway Authority, State Building Authority, Government of Upper Bavaria).

• Statements as part of the hearing of the fire brigade in accordance with §19 PrüfVBau.

• Statements on special problems of structural and organisational fire protection as a fire protection agency.

• Advising the operator of a plant in accordance with BImSchG on the economic and realistic implementation of a safety concept (e.g. hazardous incident plants).

The aim is for the supervision of a building to be in the hands of one person. The decisive factor for responsibility is not the part of the building that you want to convert, but whether the building as a whole is a special building.
