If you are or were registered in Munich, you can apply for a written or electronic registration certificate from us.

Description

The registration certificate contains the following data:

  • Surname
  • First names with labelling of the common first name,
  • Doctoral degree,
  • Date of birth,
  • current addresses, labelled according to main and secondary residence.

At the request of the person concerned, further data may be included in the registration certificate:

  • former names (if stored)
  • Religious name, stage name (if stored)
  • Place of birth, if born abroad also the country
  • Gender
  • Data on the legal representative
  • current nationalities
  • Religion
  • previous addresses, labelled according to main and secondary residence
  • Date of moving in, date of moving out, date of change of status
  • Marital status
  • for married persons or civil partners, additionally date and place of marriage/establishment of civil partnership, abroad also the country
  • Data on the spouse or civil partner
  • Data on underage children
  • ID card/passport/eID card data

Applications can only be submitted in person at the Ruppertstraße Citizens Office. You will need an appointment for this.

For data protection reasons, the registration certificate may only be handed over to the person required to register or the authorised person. The application form must be completed in full.

Prerequisites

Written applications can only be processed if you are or were registered in Munich. Applications via the online service are only possible if you are currently registered in Munich.

Required documents

  • Proof of identity: Passport or identity card of the applicant or authorised person (when applying via the online service, the new electronic identity card or an electronic residence permit or an eID card (EU) issued in Germany with the activated online ID function)
  • completed application form (including power of attorney), if applicable
  • Proof of payment (for written applications)

Incoming applications cannot be processed without proof of payment.

A carbon copy or copy of the remittance slip does not constitute proof of payment.

Fees

  • Processing fee per written certificate: 5 euros
  • Processing fee per multilingual form (translation assistance): 5 Euro
  • electronic certificate_ free of charge
  • Certificate for pension purposes: free of charge

Payment methods available

Questions & Answers

Then you can obtain an additional form with translation assistance in the respective national language. This form contains information on your place of residence or marital status.

You can apply for an electronic registration certificate from us free of charge. If you come to the Ruppertstraße Citizens Office in person with an appointment (bring your ID card or passport), you will receive it immediately. If you apply for the registration certificate in writing, you will receive the registration certificate sent to your current address. If you apply in person or in writing, the fee is 5 euros.

This is not necessary. However, the person present must also be registered as the parent with custody.
