Commencement of operations of a taxi or hire car company

Have you bought a taxi or hire car company? Then you must commence operations within the period specified in the authorisation notice.

Requirements

  • The application for the transfer of a taxi or hire car licence has been approved
  • The vehicle is registered to the new company at its registered office as a taxi or hire car
  • The vehicle is fully equipped as a taxi or hire car and you can present a test report on a technical inspection in accordance with the Ordinance on the Operation of Motor Vehicle Operators in Passenger Transport (BOKraft).

Required documents

  • Identity card or passport
  • Extract from the commercial register
  • Certificate of Registration Part I (vehicle registration document) – registration as a taxi or hire car
  • Licence certificate and extract from the licence certificate of the previous company
  • Proof of the general inspection (not more than one month old)
  • Test report on a technical inspection in accordance with the Regulation on the Operation of Motor Vehicle Enterprises in Passenger Transport (BOKraft) (not older than one month)
  • Proof of a valid business registration
  • Confirmation of the installation of a TSE-compatible EU odometer or EU taximeter

Duration and costs

Fees

The start of operations after transfer is included in the authorisation fee. An additional 40 to 60 euros (depending on the legal form) is due for the business registration.
