Support for children of pre-school age
If your child is between the ages of 4 and 7 and you want to prepare them for school at home, you can take advantage of the HIPPY support programme.
Description
HIPPY is an intercultural and integrative programme of parent education and early support for children. Under the motto "Success at school starts at home", the HIPPY programme supports parents in promoting the development of their four to seven-year-old children at home.
An important goal is to enable parents to practise and play with their children for 20 to 30 minutes a day using specially developed play and learning materials. Parents are introduced to these materials in weekly alternating home visits and parent group meetings. The parent groups also discuss topics to strengthen parenting skills, parenting and education. HIPPY is offered throughout the city.
Prerequisites
- One hour each week for an introduction to the role-playing method, alternating between home and group meetings with other participants from your neighbourhood.
- A parent should be prepared to play and learn with their child for around 15-20 minutes five days a week.
