Individual project funding in the area of theatre
Professional artists and groups can apply for project funding in the field of dance.
Course description
Funding is available for projects by professional artists and groups who have already achieved initial artistic success in the independent performing arts. The projects should have an independent aesthetic expression, reflect relevant contemporary discourses and enrich Munich's independent performing arts scene. 100,000 euros is the maximum funding amount for individual projects. Funding is provided for the production and a limited number of performances. Complementary financing must be conclusively proven.
The funding is aimed at artists of all age groups. Debut funding is provided for the beginning of an artist's career.

Applications for the year 2027 can be submitted until Monday, 1 June 2026.
Legal basis
Awarding
The submitted applications are reviewed by the jury of independent theatre and dance professionals. The award recommendations are based on the principles and guidelines for the promotion of contemporary performing arts. The City Council is expected to decide on the awarding of the dance and theatre scholarships in autumn 2026 based on the jury's recommendation.
