Course description

The specialist unit serves as a first point of contact for professionals and key influencers who support young people on issues relating to political youth education. It offers initial expert guidance on questions and challenges in the field of political youth education. Together, we determine what support would be most appropriate. Where necessary, the centre can refer you to suitable counselling, training and educational programmes, as well as appropriate contacts.

In addition, project ideas and political education initiatives aimed at young people may be eligible for financial support upon application. Please feel free to get in touch. Together, we will review your proposal and determine whether funding is an option.

For example, you can contact the specialist unit if

• political issues or conflicts are a major presence within groups or organisations,
• there is uncertainty about how to deal with discriminatory, misanthropic or anti-democratic statements,
• young people appear to be heavily influenced by problematic content on social media,
• you are looking for training or educational programmes in the field of political youth education,
• you are seeking support in planning political youth education programmes and projects, or would like to find out about funding opportunities,
• there is a concern that individual young people may be moving towards radicalisation.

Prerequisites

This programme is aimed at professionals, key influencers, funding bodies and other institutions and organisations involved in child and youth work and political youth education that work with children and young people.
