Driving instructor licence
Anyone who wants to train learner drivers needs a driving instructor licence.
Prerequisites
- You are registered as having your main residence in Munich.
- You are at least 21 years old.
- You have (at least) completed vocational training in a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent previous training.
- You are in possession of the required driving licence categories
- You are completing a full-day course at a training centre for driving instructors
Required documents
- Identity card or passport
- Card driving licence (at the time of acquiring the instructor's licence for category BE, you must have held category B for at least three years; for the instructor's licence for categories A, CE and DE, you must have held categories A2, CE and D for at least two years respectively)
- Certificate of vision examination by an ophthalmologist or occupational physician, not older than one year (the vision requirements for category C must be met)
- Certificate of medical fitness examination, not older than one year (the physical and mental fitness requirements for category C1 must be met)
- Curriculum vitae
- Proof of completion of vocational training
- Confirmation from the training centre for driving instructors where you are registered
- extended certificate of good conduct according to § 30a para. 1 no. 1 BZRG for submission to the authorities (must not be older than three months, a written request is necessary for the application). Please contact us for this)
