Access authorisation - pedestrian zones

If you want to enter a pedestrian zone outside the permitted times or with a vehicle over 7.5 tonnes, you need a permit.

Description

Please use our online application to apply for an access permit to a pedestrian zone.

Please note:

  • If you would like to apply for an access permit for a construction site, you first need a traffic law permit from the Mobility Department (see below: "Construction measures in public traffic areas"). You can only apply for an access permit once you have this.
  • The permit is only valid in the original and must be clearly displayed in the vehicle.
  • The permit only authorises loading and unloading. Parking in pedestrian zones is not permitted.
  • The stay of the vehicle in pedestrian zones must be limited to the absolutely necessary duration. For residents, the permit can be issued with a validity of 3 years. An extension is generally possible for residents.

There is an overview (available for download) of the permitted delivery times in the pedestrianised areas of the Old Town. These apply to vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.

Permission is only granted in absolutely necessary individual cases and for a minimum period of time, either to carry out work (at construction sites, events, removals) or for residents for domestic supplies or for journeys to and from parking spaces on private property.
